TCC is providing planning assistance and advice on performance systems for The Flea Theatre’s new home, located just few blocks away from its current TriBeCa venue. The project involves the adaptive re-use of a 5,600-sf office building to create three intimate and flexible performance spaces. With its enlarged premises, The Flea will be able to expand its programming and enhance the quality of the experience for artists, audience and staff.

The new Woodrow W. McGlothlin Center for the Arts will provide a stage for student performances and exhibition unseen before on the Emory & Henry campus. The Center will house a 450-seat theatre with proscenium stage, a three-dimensional design studio, gallery space, dressing rooms, and a 150-seat studio theatre.

Design has begun on a new music building at Casper College. The new facility will feature soundproof classrooms and practice rooms plus a 420-seat recital hall with a stage that can accommodate 65 band members and a full percussion section. The projected 32,000-sf building project will enhance both education and culture within the community.

In August of 2007, Hobart and William Smith Colleges engaged TCC to assist with programming for a dynamic theatre, dance and music complex.  TCC is continuing as theatre consultant for the design of the new Performing Arts Center, which will include flexible performance and rehearsal spaces, a 180-seat studio theatre, a 250-seat dance theatre, and faculty offices.  Williams Hall, currently home to the music department, will be renovated to house additional classroom space as well as prop and costume storage.

Due to open in fall of 2012, the Topfer Theatre, at 420 seats and with a stage three and a half times larger than ZACH’s Mainstage, will nearly double the seating capacity at this renowned theatre campus on Lady Bird Lake while retaining the intimate theatre-going experience for which ZACH is known.  TCC worked closely with the design team to create a functional energy model which is predicted to earn an unanticipated 7 LEED points.

The Dock Street Theatre was built within the historic shell of the Planters Hotel (circa 1800) and is located on the site of the first theatre building in America. Home to the Charleston Stage Company and a primary venue for Spoleto Festival USA, the historic venue underwent an extensive three year renovation to bring it up to contemporary performance standards. Extensive soundproofing was added to ensure that external noise no longer intruded on performances. The theatre was made fully ADA accessible.

Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theatre is a state-of-the-art live music venue that doubles as the new home of KLRU-TV’s acclaimed Austin City Limits music series. The primary goal was to make this venue feel as much like ACL’s old Studio 6A as possible thus the main floor mimics the proportions and the audience has the same proximity to the stage. Flexible staging and adjustable seating offers a variable capacity between 300 and 2,700 patrons on three levels with no seat further than 80-feet from the stage.
